Martin decided to pursue ‘the dream’ in 2009 by travelling to NZ to qualify as a ski instructor. After spending a winter at Porters skiing, training and socialising he realised the ski world was far more fulfilling than the job he had left in England. He immediately started doing back to back winters, which took him to Southampton (UK, dry slope), Poland, USA and Japan.
Martin gained his trainers qualification and became an examiner for the NZSIA in 2016. He continues to live the dream spending his NZ winters at Cardrona, as a snow sports school coordinator, and his northern winters in Japan, training future ski instructors and teaching private lessons.
