Mark is originally from Christchurch and in his younger days would spend any opportunity that was on offer to ski the surrounding fields. He was introduced to snowboarding in the early 1990’s and shortly after he attended and passed the first ever NZSIA Snowboard Stage 1 Instructor’s course at Mt Hutt.
That was him hooked on snowboarding and he began working as an instructor at Mt Hutt from then through to 2012. In 2013 he began exploring what it’s like to be on the other side – free riding!!!
Along the way he gained all of his qualifications and for many years now he has been a proud member of the SBINZ examining team.
In the summer Mark run’s his beloved surf school, West Coast Surf, which is based at Tauranga Bay on the West Coast of the South Island.
He just loves to ride – surf or snow – it doesn’t matter!
