Works at: Cardrona – High Perfromance Centre
After skiing for 4 years, Nick did his first snowboard lesson with his Dad at the age of 7 at Mt Ruapehu. Both of them were instantly hooked. Nick continued to go on the annual family trip, and once Snowplanet was built in Auckland, he was riding once a week. This is where his passion for park riding began.
After attending AUT university in Auckland where he studied business, he realised that was not the life he wanted to live. Nick moved down to Wanaka at the age of 20 to train to be an instructor in the Polytech course at Cardrona. Now at the age of 28, he has 13 seasons under his belt. These include instructing and coaching in Canada, Japan, USA and NZ but he is still itching for more. Nick now works as a freestyle snowboard coach for the High Performance Centre at Cardrona where he coaches some of the top junior athletes in the country.
When Nick isn’t snowboarding, you might find him at the gym lifting weights. He also loves skateboarding, playing pool, and gaming.
