Cross Country Ski Level One Skate Technique Preparation Day

This preparation day is open to all members and is designed for those that may sit the Cross Country Ski level one. The aim is to provide you with guidance so that you can have a clear understanding of the Level One requirements. It will also give you the opportunity to have training from examiners on your personal ski skills that will help give you a pathway for you to get more out of the Level One course towards a successful outcome.

  • Basic Skate technique
  • Marathon skate and ski gears for flat, uphill and downhill terrain
  • Turning on cross country skate skis
  • Error detection and correction
  • The movements of cross country skate skiing to maintain balance and form
  • Technical terminology
  • Personal cross country skiing development

Pre-requisites: You must be an associate member or full member of NZSIA and have attended a Cross Country Ski Level One CLASSIC preparation day (or have equivalent experience).
